🔎 Comprehensive Genealogy Research Methodology
Our research follows a systematic methodology, beginning with American records to establish a solid foundation using original names and direct connections before moving to European records.
Basic American Records
This phase uses accessible American records to create a verifiable baseline. Key records include:
Federal and State Census Records: To place individuals in time and location, detailing household composition.
Naturalization Papers: Often providing original foreign names and specific towns/regions of origin.
Passenger Manifests and Overland Arrivals: Documenting entry and linking individuals to their last foreign residence and their foreign next of kin
Newspaper Death Notices and Obituaries: Offering rich biographical details and burial information.
Cemetery Research: Giving name of parent and date of death.
Vital Records (Birth, Marriage, Death Certificates): Providing explicit, direct proof of connections and origins.
Research Reports
Upon completion of the initial phase, we deliver a detailed Research Report summarizing all findings.
The Report: Typically, 10 to 30 pages, it details the methodology, conclusions, and future research recommendations.
Delivery: The report and copies of all supporting documents are emailed to you in PDF format. A hard copy is available upon request.
We then hold a consultation to review the findings and collectively plan the next phases of your family history investigation.
